LA County Planning’s Tree Hub
This month, Dan Hoffman will join us to discuss LA County Planning's Tree Hub.
One year after its launch, the LA County Tree Hub has evolved from a centralized source of tree information into a growing collaborative platform for urban forestry. Built on ArcGIS Hub, the site brings together authoritative datasets, interactive maps, planning resources, educational content, and public engagement tools from across multiple County departments.
This presentation will explore how the Tree Hub has fostered new interdepartmental collaboration, expanded public resources—including interactive surveys and outreach tools—and helped establish a shared foundation for managing and protecting Los Angeles County's urban forest. Attendees will see how GIS can do far more than produce maps: it can connect organizations, break down data silos, improve transparency, and create lasting partnerships around a common geographic mission.
